Visit the Wellington Tunnels in English
Their brilliant idea: charging New Zealand tunnellers with the task of connecting the old limestone quarries under Arras, and transforming them into a network of underground billets, where 24,000 soldiers waited for the attack.
The lift takes you 20 meters deep, where the guided tour makes you share the soldier's lives and intimacy. Upon surfacing, you stay in the footsteps of the soldiers by watching a film describing the shock that was the Battle of Arras.
Practical information
Opening hours: Everyday from 09:30am to 12:30am and from 1:30pm to 18:00pm.
Exceptional closing time at 04:00 pm on December 24th and December 31st.
Closed from January 8th to January 26th, 2024. Closed on December 25th.
Guided tours only. The guided tour is completed with an audioguide. Tours start regularly. WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND TO BOOK IN ADVANCE.
17 people maximum in a tour. Duration: 1H30. Warm clothing is recommended.
Please present your tickets at the front dest 10 MINUTES before the start of the tour.

During the tour:
- Wearing a safety helmet is compulsory as the tour is underground.
- The safety helemets are cleaned between each tour.
- Hairnets at your disposal for the safety helmets.
