Clusius Prize – New for 2026!

The Clusius Prize is an optional award at the World French Fry Championship, open to all categories (except ‘French Fry Sauces’). It pays tribute to the botanist Charles de l’Écluse, known as ‘Clusius’, and highlights the potato in all its varietal, agricultural and culinary richness. It recognises entrants who place particular emphasis on the flavour of their chips, the choice of variety and the suitability of their cultivation practices. Independent of the overall ranking, it can be won individually or in partnership with a potato producer.
