Botanica

Located in Hernicourt, in the Green Artois region, Botanica is a botanical garden created in 1976 by Roger Paprocki. It became the first botanical garden in the Hauts-de-France region to open to the public in the 1980s and offers a fascinating botanical experience throughout the year.

Covering 2.5 hectares, the garden features an outstanding collection of rare trees, shrubs and perennial flowers. Thousands of plant varieties flourish here, including irises, peonies, ornamental crab apples, dogwoods, hyacinths, magnolias, viburnums and many rare specimens from around the world. Highlights include several Japanese maples and a remarkable Ulmus parvifolia 'Geisha', cloud-pruned to resemble a bonsai tree.

Designed by a passionate botanist and landscape enthusiast, the garden provides a peaceful setting for walking, contemplation and relaxation. Each season brings new colours and ever-changing displays.

Opening times:
Groups: all year round (except November and December), by prior booking.
Individuals: one weekend each month.
